The South Asian Bar Association of Connecticut Endowed Fund
On June 24, 2014, the South Asian Bar Association of Connecticut (SABAC) officially launched the SABAC Endowed Fund, in honor of SABAC’s ten year anniversary. The goal of the Fund is to award scholarships and summer public interest fellowships to Connecticut area law students, of South Asian descent and otherwise, who have demonstrated a commitment to SABAC’s mission, and to the South Asian community and culture through their personal and professional accomplishments. The Fund has been established in cooperation with the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, (HFPG) a well-respected community charitable foundation that has been in existence since 1925.
SABAC must raise $50,000 before the Fund may be used to make awards. SABAC has designated $10,000 to establish the Fund, and has raised an additional $23,000 in donations and pledges so far. Through the tremendous generosity of the Day Pitney Foundation, SABAC has secured a grant for the final $10,000, contingent upon raising the remainder from other sources.
Please help us reach our goal!
Donations are a 100% tax deductible and will be acknowledged by the HFPG.
